Directors, Lyra Beins-Stewart and Barry Butler have worked in the industry since the 1980’s, Barry, providing his expertise to both government and private sectors has long been regarded as a cornerstone in this field. He was integral in the system installation and sound design of “Reflections at Bukit Chandu”, a commemorative site set up by the Singapore National Heritage Board honouring those Singaporeans who fought the final battle on Pasir Panjang Hill during the Japanese occupation of World War II. With numerous awards and certificates of recognition, including one for his involvement in the much talked about feature film, “Apocalypse Now”, plus another for “Deer Hunter”, he continues to contribute to the integrity of this highly specialized field. Lyra, always an asset, has produced and/or edited videos for the Public Works Department, OCBC, the National Kidney Foundation, Nokia, Honda, Ministry of Manpower and many others. In addition to creating programme trailers for Kids TV on Channel, Lyra was also production coordinator for the Bollywood films, ‘Banarasi Babu’ and ‘Aur Pyar Ho Gaya’ and since 1996 has assisted both local and foreign producers & directors. Together Barry and Lyra form the partnership which has enabled Speakeasy to successfully become one of Singapore finest and most competitive audio production facilities. |
